Gaming On The Road: Hyundai And Polestar Cars To Feature Nvidia’s Geforce Now Service

    Published:

Hyundai and Polestar have partnered with Nvidia to bring cloud-based gaming to their vehicles.

They will be using Nvidia’s GeForce Now service to offer a variety of games to their customers, although which cars to receive this feature first is currently unknown.

The service, Nvidia claims, “delivers a full PC-gaming experience to nearly any device, including laptops, mobile devices, smart TVs — and now, personal vehicles.”

“Gamers” will be able to play and access over 1,500 titles, “including top-rated games such as ‘A Plague Tale: Requiem,’ ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,’ and ‘Cyberpunk 2077,’ from leading stores such as Steam, Epic Games Store, the EA app, Ubisoft and GOG.com.”

While some games are free, others require monthly subscriptions or one-time payments.

Additionally, the games are cloud-based, so a reliable 4G or 5G connection is needed, which may come with a monthly fee. Thankfully, many automakers provide free trials for this connection.

Both Hyundai and Polestar have strongly emphasized safety, allowing passenger screens to play games anytime. However, screens visible to the driver will only run games once the car is parked. This move is similar to what Tesla and BMW have done recently with their vehicles.
