Ash and Pikachu’s 25-year journey will come to an end with Pokémon’s upcoming episodes, which are scheduled to begin airing on Japanese TV next week. The last 11-episode story arc will premiere on January 13.
The conclusion will bring together old friendships and show Ash and Misty competing to catch a wild Clauncher. The series will also see Ash, Misty, and Pikachu rescue a kidnapped Brock from a wild Hatterene.
Best yet, there will be a remake of the original opening theme from the 1997 anime that will act as the theme for the show’s final episodes.
Almost 1,300 episodes of the Pokémon animated series have been produced since the first episode aired in Japan in 1997 and the US in 1998.
In the process of Ash and Pikachu’s storyline ending, we can expect an ongoing Pokemon storyline featuring new characters, Liko and Roy.
It was intentional that Ash took so long to reach his goal of becoming a Pokemon world champion. The Pokemon company wanted to show kids that it’s okay to lose and that the journey is what matters most.
